Hidden Gems

Ouachita National Forest - The Secret Hole

Tucked away deep off of the beaten path in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, is where you will find an amazing set of rocky cascdes that come alive after a big rain.  Here is the video from when my boys and I finally discovered this hidden gem after years and years of searching.

The Three Falls Hike

These amazing waterfalls are found where you wouldn't expect them to be.  The Texas panhandle can be flat and barren but along the Llano Estacado you will find amazing slot canyons and waterfalls.  Nearly all of them are on private property, as is this hike.  We were lucky enough to gain permission from the landowner for this adventure in the Big Empty.

Swimming at Third Falls

In this video, we return to Third Falls, in the heat of summer, to enjoy the hidden Texas oasis.

Our First Look at South Cita Waterfalls

Over 150 years ago, the Comanche and other nomadic tribes called this area home.  With ample wildlife and spring-fed water, this oasis provided a home for Native Americans.  Here is a look at our first exploration of this unique area and its amazing natural features.

A Swimming Hole Lost in Time

This granite quarry was the place to be in the 60's and 70s'.  This abandoned rock quarry became quite the swimming hole.  This old swimming hole now sits on private property within the Wichita Mountains but we were able to explore it, with permission, and take in the awesome views.  Man, if these rocks could talk.......
